Wedensday 18th April 2018

ICOMOS Information Evening

Sharing stories and the transfer of knowledge between generations is a crucial step in our cultural development.

The ICOMOS Ireland Emerging Professionals Group are hosting an information evening and walking tour of Dublin on April 18th 2018, to mark ICOMOS International Day for Monuments and Sites. This year’s theme is “Heritage for Generations” and will take place in Tailors’ Hall, Dublin 8 at 4.30pm.

This informative event will introduce the working of ICOMOS and the various charters, conventions and principles which shape the conservation of our cultural heritage. A series of short presentations in Tailors’ Hall will be followed by a guided walk to a selection of Dublin city centre locations, to discuss various conservation charters.

The evening promises to be a dynamic event with presentations by a wide array of speakers who are experienced members of ICOMOS. This enables an inter-generational transfer of knowledge. Speakers at the event include: Grainne Shaffrey (ICOMOS Ireland President); Audrey Farrrell; Fidelma Mullane; Merlo Kelly; Kevin Blackwood; Charles Duggan; Mary-Liz McCarthy; William Cumming and John Beattie.

Tickets: €6.00  Spaces are limited so if you are interested in the event, please register as soon as possible.
