Emerging Professionals Working Group

The ICOMOS International Emerging Professionals Working Group was established in 2017, in response to the 2016 ICOMOS Annual Report’s call for expansion of the Emerging Professional membership base. Nine resolutions were passed at the 19th ICOMOS General Assembly, in Delhi, India, that constituted the roles and scope of activity undertaken by the EPWG (see below). International and regional teleconferences are organized by the EPWG, to track the progress of ongoing initiatives, share updates, and further engage emerging heritage practitioners, in the role of an ICOMOS Working Group

Resolution 19GA 2017/33 – Emerging Professionals Initiative

The ICOMOS Ireland Emerging Professionals Working Group currently has approximately 20 members. The group assists with organising events for ICOMOS Ireland, including the 2018 International Day of Monuments and Sites event under the theme of ‘Heritage for Generations’. This was an open information evening and walking tour exploring the charters and conventions which shape conservation and cultural heritage practice. Videos of this event have been created with generous support from the Heritage Council. These videos can be viewed on our YouTube channel – please click here.
